Job Description

Smart Cremation is seeking a Sales Manager in Oakland, CA. The Sales Manager is responsible for ensuring that sales quotas are being exceeded, by recruiting, hiring, training and retention of Sales Advisors as well as personal sales production.

  • Identify, implement and continuously improve the internal business processes that impact customer satisfaction, employee morale and financial performance
  • Develop and maintain a positive working environment so that employees and Advisors are motivated to strive for excellence in all areas of customer service, compliance, sales and sound business practices
  • Demonstrate appropriate lead procurement, presentation, telephone etiquette, and closing and referral gathering techniques necessary to achieve above quota performance.
  • Direct and develop a sales team in such a manner as to ensure that contract associates are trained, tracked and supported
  • Ensure that the company's cremation presentations are taught, practiced, and used by all sales personnel
  • Develop marketing plans to ensure effective community awareness and lead development
  • Review and evaluate sales staff efforts and sales production on a weekly basis. Provide daily direction
  • Ensure that all Advisors are able to conduct thorough presentations and are skilled in door‐to‐door canvassing, telephone prospecting, referral generation and closing
  • Maintain thorough record of leads, referrals, conversion and closing ratios through proper daily use of our CRM
  • Ensure that a standard market price comparison method is taught, used and practiced by all sales personnel
  • Monitor cancellation percentages, customer feedback and each advisor’s use of the CRM
  • Ensure that FTC and state law requirements as pertains to PN cremation sales are understood and adhered to by all sales staff.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience in a sales leadership role
  • Strong sales training and management experience
  • Creative thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Professional communication and effective leadership skills
  • Public speaking and seminar presentation experience
