We are seeking a General Sales Manager for Royal Palm Memorial Gardens in Punta Gorda, FL.The General Sales Manager will be responsible for selecting, training, and motivating location staff to ensure service is above and beyond client expectations. The successful candidate will have strong planning, organizational and time management skills, as well as, the ability to work independently and prioritize multiple projects.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure that the facility is being maintained and assist in maintenance where required. 
  • Event planning such as holiday events, state memorial days, and visit community places (Churches, Hospitals, Nursing Homes or Community Centers).
  • Look for opportunities to sponsor events as a company, such as sports tournaments, breakfast, chamber meetings, church events and other charitable events.
  • Reading of trade publications, sales or presentation books to build business acumen. 
  • Ensure that the sales advisors can receive advice and leads for events. 
  • Develop passive lead generation opportunities and strategies such as advertising. 
  • Build and maintain relations with local cemeteries and memorial grounds. 
  • Build trust with clients and vendors.
  • Build community relations for all aspects of the business.
  • Lead employees in a way to maintain morale and increase sales. 
  • Understand areas which can help the location grow. 
  • Ensure that an ethical and well-trained sales staff is maintained in order to meet sales quotas and objective.
  • Enhance and/or develop, implement and enforce policies and procedures of the organization that will improve the overall sales of the Company.
  • Evaluate the operations and sales division structure and team plan for continual improvement of the efficiency and effectiveness of the group as well as providing individuals with professional and personal growth with emphasis on opportunities (where possible) of individuals.
  • Lead and manage team employees through the embodiment of the company’s core values, mission and goals of the organization.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Ability to demonstrate leadership capabilities
  • Strong communication skills
  • Strategic sales knowledge and experience
  • Business acumen and problem solving/analysis experience, funeral industry preferred
  • Leadership and management experience coaching, developing, and leading a team
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
  • 4+ years of experience in a sales role
  • 1+ years of experience in a leadership or management role
  • High School Diploma
  • Valid driver’s license
